The journey of New Jersey native j.aaron is truly inspirational. Raised in poverty, violence, college dropout, homelessness – you name it. With his troubled past behind him, j.aaron is on a different road – searching for his “Black Boy Joy” in a time where race is always heated conversation. His sound reflects just that. His talent and positivity shines through on his latest single, “Ah Like It.”
“Ah Like It” speaks to j.aaron’s anxiety, depression and his charming, light-hearted take on the world’s view of his personal quirks.
Back in 2012, after spending a night in jail and subsequently fired from his restaurant gig the next day, he decided to go full-time with music. Since then, he’s earned an illustrious reputation in the New York City club date scene – gigging his way up from small bars and legendary clubs like The Bitter End, Rockwood Music Hall and Whelan’s in Dublin all the way up to world famous venues like the Royal Theater in Amsterdam, and Radio City Music Hall in New York City. For the last 10 years, j.aaron sang backup for many different artists and acts, from 50 Cent to bonafide legends like Tony Orlando and Kenny Rogers.
