Confident and deeply talented, Dee Watkins could teach a masterclass on self-esteem, but he’ll never forget where he comes from. Ruminating on his past life in the trenches, the North Florida native shares “Nightmare On Grissolm St.,” his new video. Filled with honest lyrics delivered with soul over a haunting instrumentals, Dee reflects on how fame has changed his personal life, rapping: “Still the same n****, just got a lil richer / I be paranoid, I ain’t tryna take no picture.” In the video, Dee stalks his mansion alone before recruiting his crew for a nightcap. “Nightmare On Grissolm St.” is a highlight track from Problem Child 3, Dee’s new project, which dropped earlier this week.
A return to Dee’s signature mixtape series, Problem Child 3 is home to multiple highlight singles that show his versatility. Dee promised to always take care of his loved ones on the humble banger, “JPay,” while he focused on relationship issues on his new emotional banger, “Hurtin’ You,” singing: “I’m running out of love, I’m running out of patience / I was f****** with you, but no more I can’t take it.” Featuring appearances from NoCap, Hotboii, and Quail P, Problem Child 3 is available everywhere now via Alamo Records.
Problem Child 3 is Dee’s second full-length of 2021. Earlier this year, he shared Not One Of Them, a 10-track album featuring “Proud Of Me” ft. FCG Heem, which raked in over 2.5 million views on YouTube. Making sure to stay busy, Dee recently joined Rod Wave on his SoulFly Tour, Presented by Rolling Loud, where he performed his hits including “Hell Raiser” and “Bad A** Jit,” the latter of which has over 40 million YouTube views.
