“Nah” is the first single off Weez’s upcoming EP Locked Down; Locked Out, a collaboration between herself and producer Darkcharm of Darkcharm Records (DCR). On Nah, Weez flexes her melodic ability proving why she is one of the most versatile up-and-coming artists from the UK.
“Nah” explores Weez’s obsessive and incessant anxiety regarding all the stupid, cringey things she ever did as a yute. The catchy and melodic hook pinpoints her decision to deny that any of it ever happened by saying Nah in order to move on and find peace in her head. Her literal, matter-of-fact lyrics and varying flows accompanied by Darkcharm’s slick production and the instrumental’s deep bass make Nah a track that anyone can enjoy, understand and relate to. Everyone has done things when they were younger that they regret and some still obsess over these things to this day.
Weez describes her music as honest and relatable. Incorporating elements of Afrobeats, Dancehall and Trap, she succeeds in creating unique tracks with sounds that everyone is familiar with in the UK Scene. These accompanied by Weez’s eclectic flows and authentic lyrics based on her own experiences mean that everyone can enjoy her tracks in one way or another. Her debut EP, ‘Weird B*tch EP’ was met with high praise in the underground music scene and she hopes to reach new audiences and light up an otherwise dreary, pandemic ridden world.
