R&B icon V’Nessa returns with her latest anthem, ‘Trust In You’. At only 17 years old, this young South West London based artist has the world in the palm of her hand. About to become a household name in the mainstream music scene, V’Nessa’s releases go from strength to strength. With debut single, ‘Helpless’ being a huge success gaining over 80,000 streams on Spotify alone, the debut also gained coverage from Link Up TV, This is West Side Radio, Reprezent Radio and Rinse FM. Finding inspiration from real-life experiences, this independent songstress wants the globe to feel connected to her empowering music because it speaks the truth.
“Trust In You” is bathed in nostalgic melodies yet comes across as refreshingly original. Drawing inspiration from empowering women such as Rihanna and Ariana Grande, V’Nessa could easily find her name in lights next to her heroes. Filled with bewitching instrumentation and contemporary hip-hop personalities, ‘Trust In You’ is easily one of the strongest releases of the year. Produced by EnzSounds and Leo Khay, this emotive number radiates summer vibes throughout. From V’Nessa’s first moment in a recording studio and feeling in her element, V’Nessa explains, “I have found my purpose and have stuck with music ever since.”
Sharing her thoughts on the track, V’Nessa explains, “The track was written over a period of 5 hours. I had a concept in mind which was in relation to losing trust in someone you love very much. I told my producer I wanted a Rihanna type of beat to go with my idea. And he was able to put something together that gave me the opportunity to express my true feelings and experience on the track.”
Born in Italy but raised in London, V’Nessa grew up as one of five siblings with a passion for singing. An artist you’d want your (future) children to look up to as a role model, this inspirational woman is all about girl power, “I believe that girls can do anything they put their minds too. It doesn’t matter what you want to do as long as you can dream it, you can achieve it.”
Clearly stating V’Nessa means business, the songwriter adds, “People say that RnB is dead but believe me it’s alive and kicking and I will make sure people see that through my music.
