A soulful and conversational rapper who caught the ear of Young Dolph, Chicago native Chitana is always on his grind. Now, the newly-minted Paper Route EMPIRE signee shares “4am,” a tender trap love song. Marked by sirenic vox synths and a tasteful R&B chord progression, “4am” finds Chitana kicking his game, spitting sensual bars in his laid back style before showing off his raspy singing voice on the hook.
In the video, Chitana takes his G Wagon down to ATL for some late night action, taking his girlfriend on a tour of the town before heading back to her place. “4am” is a change of pace from the South Side rapper, following the gritty video for “Hard Times,” which dropped last month.
Home to artists like the rising superstar Key Glock and boisterous personalities like Big Moochie Grape, Young Dolph’s Paper Route EMPIRE is one of rap’s most successful independent labels. Chitana brings a different perspective to the label, his introspective bars providing a new light on street living, while keeping the same ten toes down authenticity for which the label is known.
Stay tuned for much more from Chitana and the rest of Paper Route EMPIRE this summer and beyond–including a project from Chitana later this year.
