The psychedelic reggae hip-hop duo Space Kamp is proud to announce their newest single “Air” out now. The exhilarating song is unlike anything Space Kamp has released to date and marks a new chapter as the duo artistically grow and expand. The highly anticipated new single will be released with a music video directed and produced by the steller Jack Nine Films, watch here:
For Space Kamp, “Air is definitely a bit different sonically from a lot of our past work. We think this track reflects that. We will never be scared to try different things, Art should be free.” The new song shines a light on the enlightening process of shedding the past to learn and grow from those experiences and to become a better, truer you. They continue, “We believe that anything you put your heart and mind to, you can manifest into reality if you’re passionate, dedicated and work hard for it. This song reflects that feeling. When you’re all the way dialed in… Feels like you’re walking on Air.”
With the new song, Space Kamp worked virtually with B.C. based, Juno award winning producer Rob the Viking. Due to COVID-19 travel restrictions Space Kamp was unable to travel to Canada to lay down the song with their friend and long time producer. Vocals were recorded at Marsten House in Philadelphia with engineer Ethan Mintz and sent to Rob the Viking who mixed and mastered the song at The Chamber studios. Space Kamp comments, “Once again Rob the Viking brought our vision to life. He is a special human..IF he is human. Rob is the mad scientist behind 90% of our production.”
Although not being able to tour due to COVID-19 has been difficult, the silver lining has been the focus and attention on creating their art and developing their craft. As barriers for live performances are lifted the duo has plans to slowly return back to the stage. With two albums and countless live shows under their belt, Space Kamp’s message continues, “We just want to continue to break rules and spread love. Keep it groovy and give everyone that rebel hippie music!” they conclude.
The new song is due to be a part of their forthcoming larger project, the highly anticipated LP Butterfly Effect (BE). Their electrifying new single “Air” will be available on March 25th, and everywhere you stream music. Download and save here: https://cmdshft.ffm.to/AIR
